I asked ChatGPT to write me a song about an older developer feeling left out in a team full of Zoomers. Just a bit of an extreme case of what I've been feeling in recent years... age catches up to you quickly, and suddenly you're older than many or most of your colleages.

Especially as I love coding. Most IT professionals move on to less coding-oriented jobs over the course of their career, becoming software architects, project managers, and leading teams. But with the sort of stuff I like to do, I guess I would always work alongside people who just got their start a few short years ago.

The images are generated via Flux... which is just such godsend when you need decent custom images generated en masse and don't want to have to resort to the large closed-source providers.

I was really impressed how it was able to generate decent images from fairly complex prompts. (Though reports that Flux Pro rivals Midjourney are a bit exaggerated in my opinion.)

Anyway. Zoomer language cracks me up to no end, so I used it for this song.

"R.I.P. me when I mess up the P.R." 😂 ChatGPT, you come up with the funniest lines!

And no, I don't resent working with younger people. I think they are way cool. Digging a bit deeper, that feeling of "not belonging" is just my self-consciousness showing... of constantly wanting to act "right" and fitting in (autistic masking?), which is just easier with people of my own age group than with people significantly younger.
